Knitting Baby Hats
I started knitting and crocheting baby hats for a local hospital. The pink ones are crocheted and the blue ones are knitted -- very simple and fast patterns. I picked up a variegated yarn that reminds me of Easter colors. I am using a double pointed needle pattern for the yarn. I hope to get a few done by the end of this week.

My Trip Around the World
As promised, this is my quilt I am working on
Here is a shot of the my Bernina - the machine I am using to piece. I chose this one because it loves Aurifil thread and the bobbin holds yards and yards.
My design wall -- I have to get what is up there done and out the door!

Trip Around the World
Yesterday, I took off from work and went to Peggys Sewing Center for Norma Campbell's Trip Around the World. You make a queen size quilt from 24 different 1/2 yd cuts. Here is are my strips I started cutting out before class. I did not like the dark brown so I quickly added more of the pink and blues.
This is the class:
Here is Peggy and Norma:
Here is Norma's quilt:
I will try to remember to take pictures of my progress.
I had a wonderful time!

Another Saturday for Thrift Store Finds
I love looking through the thrift stores on Kent Island. Estate Treasures donates to Queen Anne's hospice program and Living Waters runs a local food bank. Here are my quilting related finds from last Saturday -- two quilt books and bags full of thread. The one spool is a never used Aurifil in cream color. How lucky is that!
