End of the Month Report - Quilt Retreat & Knit Along

Sale Stash
On the Sunday before my quilt retreat, I went to my first knit along at the Island Yarn Boutique. I had a wonderful time and bought some great yarn to add to my stash.

From my trip to the ocean
On the Saturday before my quilt retreat, I went to Sea Needles in Bethany beach and treated myself to a cross stitch kit and a yarn to make a short row scarf. Also, I stopped in the Serendipity quilt shop in Dagsboro to purchase a unique log cabin kit in flannels.

All fat quarters except for border and sashing

Here is what happened at the quilt retreat. It took place at the Holiday Inn on Kent Island.

Made all my blocks for the Ravens quilt

Sat across from Loretta who along with Bonnie designed the quilt on display

Finished the middle of this Trip Around the World quilt made from 2004 left over flannel

Won the grand prize for wearing purple Ravens socks

Went to Peggy's and picked out a few treats to add to my quilting stash

Finished cutting my Trip Around the World quilt using a Thimbleberries pattern. It is packed up and ready to go to retreat this weekend. In addition, I went through several old magazines and copied the patterns I wanted. They are ready to be given away.

Two Days in a Row

You can now guess that New Years Resolution #1 is to keep up with posting on my blog. Here are photos for this past Saturday's treasure finds. I was not going to go to Thrifty on 50, but since I had to stop at the library I decided what the heck. I am very glad I did.

Hand painted and in very good shape
Then on the way home I hit Estate Treasures.
Lined basket for my new quilting project and a new OPI kit
New Years Resolution #2 is to finish started projects - more on that next post.

2013

Happy New Year!
I am still working on my resolutions - the ones other that lose weight, eat healthier, exercise more. I did start New Year's Day by organizing my stash.

This is a small sampling.

I worked on some projects including my towel appliques that I am gifting and some HST I started maybe two years ago.

Thimbleberries Tea Towel of the Month - January

They are made from a turnover.

I finished Mary Beth's fingerless mitts and hats. I had to start over on the mitts because the 2nd ball of yarn was dyed darker.
I can't believe I had knitted the 2nd mitten that far before I noticed.

Better!

I am almost finished Anne Marie's cowl. I bought the yarn at Patchwork Plus Quilt and Yarn Shop in Marcellus, New York this past Thanksgiving. It is alpaca from Larrabee Farms. The wool is from Storm.

The tin was 60% off at Joann's - couldn't resist.
