Thrift Store Saturday

First - old Levi's to cut off and skimpy top for yard work. A pillow for the screen porch and a book that has been on my list
Next - a towel that is just two cute(x-stitched ducks). You have to admire the all the work.
Last - to satisfy my needlework passion - yarn, cross stitch book and a crewel kit. The kit is @1990. You can tell by the colors.
I don't know why it loaded this way.

Knit and Crochet

I turned in some newborn hats to my LYS - Island Yarn Boutique. Of course I had to pick up more yarn for the hats and I treated myself to kit on the clearance table.

On My Wall

This was a free pattern from Maywood. When I was in Stephenville, TX, I went to the quilt shop and saw the stripped border fabric. I knew I has seen it somewhere else - yep - an ad in the Fons and Porter magazine I had with me.  I just need to add the borders and I am done. This will be my first quilt with mitered corners. Wish me luck!

Trip to Colorado

Last weekend, AJ & I went to Avon, CO and stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Butcher Gulch. AJ drove me around in a red Mustang:
Went up mountains -- down mountains -- around mountains -- through mountains:

This is our hotel -- very nice!
This is the view from our room, spectacular!
There were two best parts:
1. Quilt shop in Breckenridge. Here is what I bought. I really controlled myself especially since they sold yarn too!
2. Two huge elk followed us down the hill when we were leaving the hotel. I didn't get my camera out in time  for a picture :(

There were other highlights. I took the spouse tour of the Betty Ford Botanical Gardens.

And, I managed a quick shopping spree at the local outlets.
