Saturday Fix

Last Saturday I went to Peggy's Sewing Center for my new block of the month (never mind that I have not finished the last one). Here is what I took home with me. I have been so wanting the 5" twister. And wouldn't you know it, Peggy was working on a Twister quilt so I picked up some good tips. The Simply Charming book I picked up Friday (along with lots of buttons that were on clearance).
After hanging out awhile, I did my thrift store shopping. I have to cut costs somewhere!
Don't you love my Die Hard Ravens T-shirt. Ok, I know the book is probably just fluff, but it was only 13 cents. I bought more jeans for cut-offs and two tops that I might just take with me to Boston.

Thrifty Saturday

I did my usual running around on Saturday morning stopping in the thrift stores and grocery store. I did stop in Tuesday Mornings and purchased some cotton yarn for wash clothes and a pack of yo-yo makers (hearts and flowers). The rest are my thrift store finds. Do you believe the crab mug? It still had the original sales ticket. I found a counted cross stitch book with charts for mallards. How could I not bring that home.
Here is a photo of my finish. I bought the kit in Traverse City, MI last year.

Yarn update

A Confession....
The cream and pink washclothes came from a kit at my LYS that was on the clearance table. I was suppose to make a soap holder and body scrubber. I could not figure out the directions (and I have been crocheting for 40 years) so I made the round ones. The blue-green washclothes were made from the cotton yarn I purchased at the thrift store.

How much is too much?

I am embarrassed to post this photo.
I think my stuff got our of hand so I cleaned up over the long weekend.

And even hung some pictures. Well, I told AJ where to hang them. Then I worked on some of my projects.

July 4th

I had one of the best long weekends! The highlight was a boat ride Monday morning. Here is AJ taking the boat off the lift.

The view traveling out on Jackson Creek

Looking out over the Chester River.

Passing this sail boat.
Cabin cruiser passing us.
Back to Jackson Creek past the osprey nest.

Back in the neighborhood.
Oh yes - we had a 4th of July guest spend the night - our neighbor's missing bunny.
