Before Christmas

I have been busy with several projects. And, I did a little thrifting.

What is a quilter's Christmas without a patchwork tree.
I scored two great books and a needle thread for only $2.
I knitted Anne Marie a hat and fingerless mitts in SU colors in time for Christmas.
Included in Anne Marie's box were two cross stitch ornaments. AM did the cross stitch. I sewed them to hang on the tree. (still have a few more to complete)
I quilted Brian and Tisha's quilt on the long arm. Here I am putting on the binding. It was mailed and just arrived in Memphis today.
I finished piecing this quilt for my sister - boy will she be surprised when I give it to her.
I started putting together the blocks I pieced on my featherweight.
Pulled out a box and found another quilt started that is just like the one I am giving to my sister.
Last, I am knitting a sweater for Buddy - a turtleneck and my 1st sweater.

Yikes! I better post about thanks giving before Christmas arrives. AJ, Buddy and I traveled to Syracuse to spend the holiday with Drs. Sullivan and Thomas -- my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. We left a day early to beat the snow and came home a day early. Of course, I had to stop at some of my favorite quilt places and yarn shops.
Our 1st stop was Good's in Quarryville -- purchases some fat quarters and background fabric.
Also, I treated myself to this fat quarter pack -- love French General.
Next stop was Stitch and Craft outside Manheim -- one panel and some Thimbleberries Christmas yardage.
Martin's Fabric Barn is a must!!! -- found towels for applique.
Martin's had some fabric to complete two projects -- and Thimbleberries yardage.
I could not resist this panel -- Holly Taylor, a favorite.
Wednesday before Thanksgiving, AJ tool me to JoAnn's in Fayettsville, NY for the doorbuster --
and some mats for my accuquilt.
Anne Marie took me to her local yarn shop on Black Friday -- picked out of clearance.
Then we went to a yarn shop in Manillus -- picked out of 30% clearance and the solid blue skein was free!

What I have been done or doing

Some days it feels like I do not get anything accomplished. Eventually the projects come together and I can see a finish or progress. This is some of what I did in November.

Mary Beth's friend had a preemie baby boy so I made a self binding blanket, matching burp cloth, stripped hat, and then a matching hat.
I made this adorable pillowcase for Barrett. It is new pattern I learned at Peggy's Sewing Center. I love the different color for the back and the hidden cuff.
Mary Beth wanted me to knit boot cuffs for her. She sent me the link for the pattern and the color. I just finished them last night.
Hot off the longarm. Now I need to square up and sew the binding. This goes to New York.
I started a dog sweater  for Buddy. It has been record breaking cold for November and Buddy gets his coat clipped.
More pillowcases made from leftovers using the new pattern. I want to finish today.
I got one of Anne Marie Christmas ornaments put together. I am working on the others.
I love Blue Heron chenille yarn! I am knitting this scarf  at my knit group - the Little Purls
So, this should keep me out of too much trouble.

Bad Barbara

My badness started at 5:00 am with an online purchase of am Accuquilt Go. I have wanted one for along time. Then, Quilt in a Day had some great specials. While I was on the computer, I thought I would check out Handi Quilter to see if they had posted its prostitcher retreat schedule for 2015. It was posted and booked the first one.
I had planned a trip to look at the leaves changing color and to visit Boonsboro. On the same day as my on-line purchases, AJ, Buddy and I drove out to western Maryland.
First stop was Patches and I bought a spool of thread. Second stop at White Swan shop, I purchased some needles and 3 fat quarters in the clearance bin. Third shop -- Wilson's -- I bought a sewing machine! When I walked in I had no intention to do that. I was lured in by the fantastic price.
