This Saturday

I woke up my usual very early time and took a picture of my very messy quilting area, aka the kitchen table.
I decided today was the day, especially since some of the mess was getting packed up to take to the BOM quilt shop.
So BOM went slowly, but this followed me home.
I already have it packed for quilt retreat.
Home at last and time to clean. I decided to rearrange.

I think I am going to enjoy this arrangement. When I press I look out to the yard and bird feeders.I can look up from the chair to the TV (on for background as my grandson Thomas would say).
I got busy working on some baby items:

Burp clothes

I put binding on the bib (held my breath the whole time)

Finished up my 10 minute table runner (which took a lot more than 10 minutes!).

I almost forgot my thrifty buys: I stopped in the local consignment shop in Centreville just to browse: one maternity dress and corn on the cob holders for my everyday dishes.

The Past Two Saturdays

On Saturday 10/8, I took advantage of the Columbus Days sales at the ocean. It was a beautiful day. I got lots of bargains, got to stop at a quilt shop, and got to sit on the beach.
This past Saturday 10/15, I did my thrift store shopping. I found somethings for Fall decorating.
I found some kits to satisfy my needlework, some fabric for quilting, a key chain with a patchwork motif (Longaberger still in the package) a book for 13 cents, and an addition to my Pfaltzgraff dishes and my modest floral frogs.

When I got home, I realized my quilting table (kitchen table) needed an organizational overhaul.
OOPS!!!

I do have a full design wall with projects. I added more as the day progressed.

The paper bag holds finished blocks for random placement whenever I decide to give up control and replace it with randomness.

I worked on a baby bib. All the fabric is from my stash. The green flower is on the back and the green dots will be the binding. My daughter loves anything that has a moose. She is left handed so the Velcro will be on the left.

Thrifty Finds

It was a very productive weekend. I mowed the lawn, went to the attic decorated for fall worked on my quilting, did a little kntteing, cleaned the house, did  the laundry, went to the grocery store, cooked, finished my book, etc.
The highlight was my thrifty finds! From the thrift store came a vintage sewing basket packed with darning supplies - event the darning egg!
From the consignment shop, all this yarn and book at 50% off their price. There was a storewide sale.

Scrappy was very tired by Sunday night. He followed me around all weekend. He missed the Ravens game and I had to carry him up to the big bed.
